Description and expertise of the organisation:
University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule Vorarlberg) has a proven track record in creating solutions with over 100 companies and organizations worldwide and in acquiring extensive funding and grants. FHV cooperates with Industry in pre-competitive and competitive research in order to come up with innovative solutions in the area of applied research.

The Research Centre for Microtechnology carries out work in the areas of
microtechnological production methods and components of micro-systems.

Areas of research:
• Design and prototyping of passive optical devices (VHDWDM, DWDM & CWDM MUX/DeMUX, splitters,..).
• Development of microsystems and processes for microtechnology manufacturing.

Research Centre for Microtechnology offers:
• Years of experience in developing designs for PLC (planar lightwave circuits) products
• Laboratory for numerical simulations
• Fully equipped cleanrooms ISO Class 5 for first prototyping (UV and DUV lithography, dry etching: RIE&DRIE, microelectroplating, laser micromachining, sputtering).

Design and fabrication of CWDM/DWDM and VHDWDM passive optical components.
